The School of Foreign Studies is characterized by its majors related to international business. With the support of Yiwu’s advantaged environment of international trade market, the school has fostered a specialty cluster which is led by the international economy and trade and also includes international business, logistics management, applied English and applied Spanish. Besides, it opens optional foreign language courses for the whole college, such as English, Arabic, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, French, German,Portuguese, etc.

Presently, there are over 100 Chinese teachers in the school, as well as more than10 foreign experts in culture and education, including 37 full and associate professors and 2 doctors. Over half of the teachers have a background of overseas education.

The school values the students’practical ability and vocational skills. It has achieved outstanding results in the various academic competitions at all levels. With the common efforts of the school,it has won 9 national first prizes, 15 national second and third prizes, 40 provincial first prizes and 70 provincial second and third prizes.

The school attaches importance to international exchange and cooperation. Every year a few outstanding students are sent to study in the colleges of the US, UK, Poland, Canada, Korea and Taiwan, and take internship in Malaysia and the US.

Meanwhile, the college keeps up with the pace of the local economic and social development and seizes the opportunities that come along with the national economic pilot reform. It aims at the needs of government departments, industries and enterprises for talents and service and carries out the service work for the local development. Over the past years, both the teachers and students of the school have attended many large-scale international exhibitions and important international conventions as volunteers and interpreters. The teachers’ service team has been honored as “the woman civilization post”, and the student volunteers have won a good reputation for the school with the excellent job they have done.
